Portfolio
Here you will find websites that I have worked on individually and as part of a team. During each website I learned something new and continue to learn news things. Let me share with you some examples that have challenged my skills needed to be successful in the web developer world.
Wingin It Air Ventures is my first Drupal website. I had many challenges going into this project. Being new to this platform ment that I spent a lot of time researching everything about it. I also found a local Drupal Community that got together a few times a month and discussed Drupal and E-Commerce options. What I learned soon after I started the project was that Drupal 7 is awesome because it has modules that enable many features, when I started building this website many of the modules were not ready. This did result in a few requirements being dropped and it also led to a more creative way to getting functions accomplished. Overall it was a great experience and I look forward to my next Drupal 7 project.
Remco was a great exercise for not only me, but also for the Designer on this project. I was able to share my knowledge of WordPress with the designer and make suggestions to improve the design to be more WordPress friendly. This website is not a typical Blog website. We choose WordPress for the CMS that was offered. I was challenged with trying to find a sidebar widget that used a wysiwyg interface. Also, I had to setup a handful of different sidebars that only displayed on certain pages. It was a great project!
Grain Logix was a project that was handed to me at a partially done status. I got to work with my first XML Database that powers the Rep/Dealer Locator. I also got to setup a handy CMS that I hand coded to power the Tradeshows page and Tradeshow dropdown.
Scheels All Sports was my introduction to an E-Commerce Website. These types of sites requires a team of developers that easily work 40 hours a week. This site is hosted in house (at Scheels Headquarters) and lives on a duplicated server system. My main focus was front-end programming with Tables/HTML and CSS. I also created website reports with Crystal Reports from the very large DB2 Datbase system.
I have worked on more websites but the above projects are the most recent.
PhotoShop Cs3 Art Work
The two images above were edited for a class project at Alexandria Technical College. The assignment was to take an originial photo and then to turn it into a commercial image.
Sandhills Archery Club is a small non-profit organization that needed a newly designed website. I created the image above to be the header image of the new website. This image is no longer used today, but was a lot of fun to make.
JA Schneider used to have a more maroon and gold look. The above header is the old header to JA Schneider. I had used filters to apply the “Lens Glare” effect.
During my semester at St. Cloud State University, I joined the St. Cloud Archers Association. They were just starting out and on their Facebook page they didn’t have a display image. The above image was created to used as the display image.
Sheila Mae is a small crafting company that needed a logo. Due the variety of products offered by this company it was decided to do a letter logo instead of an image.
